There are no words...

Jane is just about to be admitted as an acute emergency to the cancer ward at Birmingham's QE Hospital.
She attended the cancer clinic yesterday for a routine visit and xray on a possible tumur in her right arm. The xray showed that her right shoulder was factured. At that point I saw the moment in her face where she gave up. A complete resignation from life.
I sat with her through the night, along with Caroline and Trevor our closest friends. This morning I have had to phone James to come home.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Martin

Dear Martin

Your Jane is so brave as is all your family. We can only hope and pray that Jane comes through this safely.
May God bless her and all your family at this worrying time.

Ron and I are praying for you and your family. You are fighting a good fight Jane - please don't give up. You have so many supporters - we are your fans - and your biggest cheerleaders. You are not alone Jane - you have so many people around the world who love you and care about you. Keep fighting....and we will keep praying.

Martin, as I read your post I can understand completely just how you and your family are feeling now. I do want you to please pass along these words to Jane though to "never quit despite the difficulties that she continues to encounter"....there is always "hope" and without hope there is little left to cling to. Jane is an inspiration to not only cancer patients, but their caregivers (like myself) and to families of those affected by cancer. I have always cherished our friendship and I know that we did not meet by chance, but by fate! She is blazing that trail for so many kidney cancer patients around the world. My husband is a true fighter like Jane....tell her that he has been ill recently, but despite all the health issues, he continues to never quit and holds on to his three words of "Love, Hope & Faith"...! Jane, you are a true Cancer Warrior!!!

dear dear martin,
reading this news, my heart is heavy. i so understand Jane's need to curl up and rest and wish it all away. she has been so strong for so long and has continually fought the good fight. This has given her many many happy days to continue enjoying her family & all that she values in her life, while spreading her story for the benefit of all us RCC patients. we are so fortunate to know her and we all count her as a dear friend. my wish for you and Jane is that you are surrounded with love and comfort and sweet moments together.
with hugs from across the pond.
