Thursday.......

Day 27 of 2nd cycle.  Almost finished.  And it hasnt been too bad really, a few rough days but generally quite tolerable.  And this is the week when I will find out if Sutent is working.  CT scan tomorrow and results on Thursday.  Im starting to get nervous I must admit.  The outward signs are good but its the scan results that really matter.  This evening I have to drink a litre of 'contrast', nasty vile stomach churning stuff - which seems such a good idea at this stage of the cycle when nausea is as its worst !  I just hope I can keep it down.

And then the all important results.  Its no good trying to second guess them, but I do naturally !  My skin lesions are definitely smaller.  No pain at all under my armpit since I started this second cycle.  But its whats happening inside that matters.  And I wont know that till Thursday.

Ive tried to keep myself as busy as I can this week to keep my mind off it.  Last Sunday, when the weather was so gorgeous, we took ourselves off to Woolocombe for the day.  Its a long drive but we got up early, with the kids moaning, and were down there before 10am.  And it was worth it.  We spent the day on the beach just sun bathing and paddling - doing the things we used to when the kids were little and we had so many happy holidays down there.  An early dinner and we were back home by 10pm - all a bit sun burnt and very tired but it was SO worth it.

Ive done a bit of shopping for my cruise ofcourse - well, I needed some new dresses for the Captains table didnt I?  And shoes......and bikinis.....and a new BIG suitcase to take it all in !

I think Im just about ready now and starting to get excited - but it wont be until after Thursday that I shall get REALLY excited......

Hi Sprite, I was begining to think that you had gone off on holiday early!  I've been sitting out in the sun drinking white wine and eating strawberries.  I enjoyed them so much I took a pic of them!  It's the little things in life that matter, lol.  Hope you have a fantastic time on the cruise.  Please, please, try to take a pic of the sun shining on the water.... I remember it so well from a holiday in Greece, it looked like the sea was lit up with diamonds, it was beautiful, unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me.  Have a brilliant, wonderful time.  Lynne xxx

Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside..lol such a tonic isn't it and I often wonder wy we don't do it more often, you know have proper family days out.

Fingers and everthing crossed for good results, glad the side effects have been few or at least managable.

So jealous you going on a cruise, do you remember Love Boat..lol it always seemed like great fun.

Take care

Hi Jane, i love the seaside and am fortunate to be living beside it once more.  As a child summer holidays were spent on the beach with my cousins, i have such fabulous memories of those days - so it was good to hear that you are still making memories too.    My thoughts will be with you on Thursday - good luck, you can then get packing that BIG new suitcase !

Hi Jane. I was a bit taken aback after reading about the beach as I used to work In a hotel In Woolacombe years ago and absolutely loved the beach and their wombles! lol. It Is so beautiful. Our hotel was like fawlty Towers! lol. The manager and area manager did a runner with 40 grand and left us the staff to run It ourselves right at the busy period!!. I will maybe post an entry about that. I am sure you will have a wee giggle. Anyway, enough of my waffling. The clothes and big case sound cool, and as for Thursday? I will have everything crossed for you. Love Pam xx
