Miss Me, But Let Me Go

A poem, found by Jane by an unknown author that she wished read at her funeral......

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that once we shared,
Miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must make,
And each must do it alone,
It's all part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

So when you are lonely and sad at heart,
Go to the friends we know,
Bury your sorrows in doing your deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

A beautiful poem and as I read it, I could hear Jane saying those words as she would have wanted all of us to not mourn long but to go on with our lives.
Such a wonderful person and a huge loss to this world.

What a beautiful poem. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family Martin. Jane truly is in a better place now free of pain. I am truly going to miss her even though I've never met her. She was my inspiration as I battle RCC myself. So long for now Jane until another time.
Love & hugs

Hi Martin. A most Beautiful Poem indeed. Jane showed so much of her thoughtfulness by choosing this particular one. It represents her perfectly, always thinking of others. I looked up the sky today and spoke away to her as the sun shone brightly in the most beautiful of blue skies i have seen in a long time. I hope you are okay Martin, Please remember that I am here for you as I am sure so many, many, others' are too. It's just One day at a time. Love Pam. xx

I am so very grieved to hear of Jane's passing. I usually pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased but do not think it necessary in this case, as I believe that even now Jane is lighting up heaven with her special glow.

I will pray for her husband and family, though.

Jane, your struggle was not for nothing. Your courage and strength were an example to many, many people who never met you. You will not be forgotten.

Sincerest condolences Martin, and all your family.

Jane and I seldom saw eye-to-eye on line, but I admired her courage in the face of this dreadful illness and especially this blog. I'm certain she (and especially her blog) will have played an invaluable contribution to ensuring that others similarly smitten will receive the same opportunity given to her by the drug sutent to enjoy a new lease of life and to derive more out of life for longer, just as Jane did, with so much courage and dignity.

RIP Jane, and kindest regards to all those who knew and loved her personally.
